Chumley, The Laugh Master


 My dog, Chumley, is a little white dog with brown spots.  He is a Jack Russell Terrier (the same kind of dog as in the TV show "Frazier" and the movie "The Mask").  He always makes you laugh.
 He loves to lick.  He picked up this habit when he was a puppy.  Every time he licks, my dad says, "You should never have let him lick when he was a puppy.  Now he thinks it’s all right to lick."
 Whenever my bald relatives visit, Chumley always manages to lick them on their bald spots.  My uncle turns all red and starts laughing like a school girl.
 If you happen to be lying on the floor and watching TV when he’s around, he’ll surprise you and tickle you with his tongue.
 He also likes to chase the cat.  The funny part is that he gets going so fast that he can’t stop because we have hardwood floors.  You’ll look into a room and see him sliding across the floor.  Besides chasing the cat, he also chases other animals outside.  He has to stop chasing them because we have an invisible fence.  You can tell when he remembers about the fence because he stops and sometimes takes a spill and goes tumbling head over heels.
 Every once in a while we heard a thumping noise that sounded like it was coming from inside the wall.  My dad said, "It sounds like bad pipes.  I’ll check it out."
 I went to get him a wrench and found Chumley running into the closet door trying to get out.  The first time it happened we had no idea what it was.  It turned out that Chumley had somehow managed to get stuck in a closet.
 Chumley is probably one of the most interesting, or at least crazy, dogs you’ll ever see.
